Open world -ish... i probably just mean non-linear. Explore as you will! Travel requires subway tokens, which you can buy at delis.
A game that's always on?
As in, no end. Procedurally generated to be tougher and tougher. I suppose the players will need some growth as well? Or, they could just die and rejoin weaker.
Really this works if it's multiplayer, and people who jump on wait to play in a limited number of slots.
A beatemup with up to four players, _max_. You come to the site, two are already playing, you can join and fight along with them. If everyone dies, the game just waits for someone else to join.
Could add more 'cohorts', i.e. several groups playing across the open-world beatemup-iverse.
Then it gets interesting when they run into each other. Do they fight? do they work together?
