A Dino game.
---
A new take on little red-riding hood, as a game.
Blowing up into a full brother's grimm fairy-tale adventure.
Set out toward grandma's, bringing the biscuits or muffins or whatever along.
feels like a grassy tilemap, lots of tree props.
A trip through the woods full of inaccessible exits, save for one along the road to Grandma's.
Along the way we meet a wolf, and chase it along the path to Gma's house.
The wolf is able to break down the barriers we're trapped by, which gives us more places to go (once we're following it).
A cozy little house, tho apparently ransacked.
It turns out the wolf _is_ Grandma. We see her transform, and we want that power.
_She's_ the one who's been haunting the village and these woods.
We go out into the woods, armed now with something extra... maybe werewolf powers?
The woods are more open, and we can explore them, discovering more tales embedded.
We find a trail of wrappers, following it until we come upon an old witch's cottage.
Hansel and Grettle are in there, desperate for more candy - they won't talk until you've brought them enough, but once you do, the witch is there.
Rescue the little pigs and fight the Big Bad wolf to save them.
I'd been thinking Runner, but now i'm like, Metroidvania? Dungeon Crawler?
An ongoing list of games I'm accumulating requirements and content for.
For now i'm hoping to get many (all) of these done in 2023. I'm not sure how crazy or realistic that is - depends wildly on scope, I suppose.
For now, it's a nice way to compare ideas - for each of these, I want to answer parallel questions. Having multiple buckets can help brainstorm (vs working on just one game).
I'm also interested in strategies for approaching each of these. For example, Beat Em Up City might be built completely on top of Super Elevator Level, as both are beat em ups, but the SEL scope is much smaller. So there's some sorting that could make approaching these easier.
