Finishing is the counter to the 'ideas guy' problem. Ideas are Cheap!
Finishing is when an idea's value is transformed from inspirational value to actual, sharable value.
That's not to say sharing ideas isn't possible - it's just that that is all you're doing - sharing ideas. Sharing something finished is where you get feedback, where you inspire more ideas.
The last 20% is 80% of the effort! How many projects have you done 80% of, that just need that focused, couple-hour push?
Maybe I should start planning just the last 20% of projects.

It's hard to produce anything! Finishing is most important.
Here are some thoughts collected to help me get out of my own way.
If you're having trouble getting something done, tell someone you're going to do it by a certain day. Then, when the fear of embarrassment and disappointment sets in, you'll find you produce something!
I find it's helpful to promise to show them _something_. Doesn't much matter what it is - but if you want something more polished, pick someone that you project high expectations on. Whatever forces you to raise the bar.
Try to find someone who will check-in with you about it on or before the deadline.
Telling multiple people can help increase the odds that at least one person will follow up about it.
Own your social motivation! You call it peer-pressure, I call it finishing! And as we all know, finishing is the most valuable part.
